Here's What Riders Said After Testing the Blacksheep ONE at Malle Mile Festival 2026

This year, a handful of riders got to test one before almost anyone else, at the Malle Mile Festival, one of the UK's most respected gatherings for custom and vintage motorcycle culture. It was our first time joining the festival, and the first time the Blacksheep ONE had been put through live test rides in front of a crowd that knows exactly what a well-built motorcycle should feel like. Here's what riders said, what surprised them, and why we believe events like Malle Mile are exactly where the future of electric motorcycling belongs.

Why We Build the Way We Do

Every major manufacturer transition to electric power has followed the same pattern: swap the engine for a battery, wrap it in the same style of moulded plastic fairing. We don't believe that's progress. We believe it's a missed opportunity.

At Blacksheep Power, our starting point isn't "how do we make an electric motorbike." It's "how do we build a motorbike we can stand behind completely" one where nothing is dressed up, nothing is hidden, and every rider can see exactly what they're buying into. We call this an honest motorbike: no plastic covers disguising the battery, no shortcuts taken to save on tooling costs. Just the engineering, in full view.

That belief is what brought us to Malle Mile. It's a festival built on the same principle, that a motorcycle should be judged on the integrity of its build, not the size of its production run.

How We Deliver on That Belief

Belief only matters if it's backed by how a bike is actually built. For us, that means three things.

Hand-built precision. Every Blacksheep ONE is engineered and assembled by our own team, using premium components including Brembo braking systems and Öhlins suspension, not off-the-shelf parts fitted to a shared platform.

Deliberately limited production. We produce just 50 units of this version, worldwide. That's not a supply constraint; it's a design decision. A motorcycle built to this standard cannot be rushed, and it cannot be scaled without losing the precision that defines it.

Direct-to-consumer ownership. Every Blacksheep ONE is sold directly by us, not through a dealership network. That means the team designing and building your bike is the same team you speak to before, during, and after the sale and the budget that would normally go to dealership margin goes into the bike instead.

This is how a belief in honest engineering turns into a physical, ridable motorcycle and it's what we brought to Malle Mile for riders to see and test for themselves.

Ben Lightbown was on great form on the Blacksheep One.

Over the course of the weekend, the Blacksheep ONE was out on the track for live test rides, giving riders their first real feel for what a bespoke electric motorbike can offer: instant torque, a lightweight custom chassis, and handling tuned specifically around the bike's own geometry rather than a generic factory setup.

The reactions were candid, which is exactly what we hoped for. One rider got off the bike and said simply, "It's phenomenal." Others, looking at a motorcycle with no plastic fairings and every component exposed, said it looked unfamiliar. Both reactions make sense. The Blacksheep ONE isn't designed to look like anything else on the road and given only 50 units will ever exist, it isn't designed to be for everyone, either.

Our thanks go to Ben Lightbown, who raced the Blacksheep ONE at Malle Mile and put it through its paces in a live racing environment, a proper stress test for a machine still new to the custom scene. And to Gun Hill Studios, who captured high-quality photography and video throughout the event, documenting everything from the bike on the festival grounds to close-ups of the build and footage from the track itself.

Why Festivals Like Malle Mile Matter

Events like Malle Mile give riders something a spec sheet or showroom cannot: the chance to see, hear, and ride a motorcycle in a real-world setting, alongside the machines it's being compared to. For a bike built on hand craftsmanship and limited production, that in-person moment is where scepticism turns into genuine interest, where "unfamiliar" becomes "phenomenal."

It also reinforced something we already believed: electrification doesn't have to mean giving up personality, precision, or mechanical honesty. It can mean building those qualities into a new kind of machine entirely.

Experience It for Yourself

This was our first time at Malle Mile. We're proud to now be part of a community that has shaped custom motorcycle culture in the UK for years, and we're looking forward to bringing the Blacksheep ONE and future builds to more events on the circuit.

If you missed us on the track this time, you don't have to wait for the next festival to see what the Blacksheep ONE is capable of.
